Terms of Service — Study Bud

By downloading or using Study Bud ("the app"), you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Study Bud is a study companion app that lets you organize study materials locally on your device and use AI features (Ask Bud, Summarize, Explain, and generating flashcards/quizzes/exams/a study plan) powered by third-party AI providers.

2. Accounts

You need an account (email + password) to use AI features and to purchase Credits. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Credits

• AI features are paid for using Credits, an in-app currency.
• New accounts may receive a one-time free Credit grant, once per device, at our discretion.
• Additional Credits can be purchased as one-time, non-subscription in-app purchases through the App Store.
• Credits have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are non-refundable except where required by law or App Store policy.
• We may change Credit pricing for AI features going forward; changes do not affect Credits you already hold.

4. Purchases

All purchases are processed and billed by Apple through the App Store's In-App Purchase system, governed by Apple's own terms. Refund requests for a purchase must go through Apple, not us — we can't issue refunds directly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or overload the service.
• Attempt to claim the free Credit grant more than once per device.
• Use the app for anything unlawful, or to generate content that violates others' rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. AI-generated content

AI features (including Ask Bud and generated flashcards/quizzes/exams/study plans) can make mistakes. Always verify important information independently — Study Bud is a study aid, not a substitute for your own coursework, textbooks, or instructor guidance.

7. Your study content

Content you create in your local study library (notes, flashcards, etc.) belongs to you. Content you submit to an AI feature is processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access — AI features in particular depend on third-party providers we don't control.

9. Limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on AI-generated content.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
